Drawn together from across the British Isles on a journey from London - Birmingham - Glasgow, TROPE’s musical influences stretch much further afield. They started out life reworking and pulling around the music of Stevie Wonder, playing their debut at Mostly Jazz Funk & Soul Festival before the mighty Nile Rodgers & Chic.
2015 saw TROPE recorded their first EP 'Butterflies & Dragons'. A heady mix of Soul, Jazz and Hip Hop saw comparisons made to the likes of Hiatus Kaiyote, Brotherly and Heritage Orchestra. They have been featured on BBC Introducing, made the Bandcamp New & Notable Records section and were recently nominated for 'Best New Artist' alongside The Internet, Dayme Arocena and Kamasi Washington at the 2016 JAJ Awards in Japan.
